D12-14: Weekend Update

Happy Valentine’s Day !! And happy second-to-last weekend of the Olympics. (When you’re here as long as we are, you celebrate little milestones like that.)

I’ve been having a few issues with the blog this weekend, so I’ll just post a few fun pix and links from the past three days. (It is now Sunday night, Sochi time.)

Friday was a sleep in and write kinda day. Saturday was my favorite day yet – watched women’s Super G with some friends in the morning, snowboarded all afternoon amd watched USA-Russia hockey at night. And did a fun podcast with the guys at SLATE.com before bed.

Sunday, I was back on the event coverage train with the women’s snowboardcross races. You can check out my story on finals, the first athlete from the Czech Republic to medal and how Lindsey Jacobellis fared in her third Olympics HERE. I called in to SportsCenter to chat about the race with Bob Ley Sunday night. You can listen to that interview HERE.

I also spent some time this weekend writing a feature on US snowboardcross rookie Trevor Jacob, who also performs on the Nitro Circus Live tour and is this generation’s Shaun Palmer. You can read that piece HERE.

The mountains in this region are unbelievably gorgeous and Alaska-like … now we just need some snow!
