London 2012, Day 20 – London

Can it be!? Closing Ceremonies! The final event of the 2012 London Olympics. I finished my story on flag bearer Bryshon Nellum and his coach Ron Allice, the longtime head coach at USC, and you can read it HERE.

My favorite photo of the day … from the park next to the London Eye.

Once I get home and take a few days to recharge my battery, I’ll be able to look back on my experience through fresh eyes and write more about what I learned over the past three weeks. But for now, I leave you with my favorite photo from this morning, when I met my friends Lisa and Mike at the London Eye, and my favorite shot from closing ceremonies. We watched as a group from our apartment complex: Bonnie made shrimp scampi; TJ made goat cheese appetizers and we all brought bottles of wine.

What a fun way to go out as a group. When the show was over and we all said our good-byes, I felt like I was leaving summer camp. It was sad to say good-bye to everyone, but I’m so excited to get home to Cali tomorrow and start looking forward to the next big sports event!

Not a bad view of the final show!
