London 2012, Day 15 – London

My final train ride! I can’t believe we’re already two weeks in. And I can’t believe we have a whole week left!

This morning, after a few hours of sleep, I woke up at the Jury’s Inn in Manchester and took a cab to the team hotel about eight miles outside of town for our last real chance for one-on-one time with Pia and the team before they head to London and our tiny little media brigade turns into a full-blown swarm. (We hear there will be more than 100 Japanese journalists alone covering Thursday’s game!)

Look who showed up to cover the Games with me! (He always steals the window seat.)

On the train from Manchester back to London, I transcribed my interviews, wrote up a fun piece for the Magazine and wrote THIS OFF-DAY NOTEBOOK for ESPN.com.

ESPN.com/action also posted a piece I did with Travis Pastrana on the premiere of his movie, Nitro Circus 3D on Wednesday. I wish I was in the States and could go see it. Depending on its success in the first week, it might be picked up for a couple more weeks, so go and see it … so I can! You can read about it HERE.

I could have used a flying carpet several times so far. But the taxi drivers here have been fantastic.

Back at my hotel, I did some work, shot another segment for Good Morning America – this one airs Wednesday morning at 7:45 a.m. ET in the States. And then I hung out with my colleagues Joy and Bonnie, drank wine and watched the Olympics on TV. What a novel concept!
